on the shoulders of those who come before us.
what with the recent migrations from twitter and explosions of mastodon, i've uh. found myself, shall we say, helping run a mastodon instance (and starting a non-profit! because i have nothing else to do with my time, but that's a subject for another time).
and i have never been more grateful for dreamwidth, nor more appreciative of the massive amounts of work that go into running things. not to mention the fact that many things around here are creative commons and that allowed me to pull actually functional documentation and policies out of my ass in relatively little time flat.
also for the massive amounts of my snarking about this and that along the way that
synecdochic has put up with from me over in discord.
i've been less thrilled with the part where a new-to-some-people platform seems to mean that we inevitably need to relitigate every single piece of internet drama from the past fifteen plus some years, and the massive amounts of everything all at once there. but this queer cannot sustain themself on long-form writing alone; some form of microblogging is honestly just necessary to my brain's well-being at this point in time and the bird hellsite has become nigh on unusable although i check on it now and then.
anyway. everything seems to be coming up rowan, which is nice knowing that i still know how to land on my feet after a major upheaval, so to speak. more later.
